This Sunday, May 10th marks one year after the disastrous fire at the Silverlynn Apartment Complex.

Thanks to your generosity and the DNV Firefighters Charity, LVCA contributed $10,000 to the almost $35,000.00 raised to support the forty-one seniors who were displaced by that tragic fire and lost everything. They continue to be in our thoughts.
North Shore Emergency Management and Family Services of the North Shore worked closely with the DNV Firefighters Charity to get the displaced seniors transitioned into long-term housing and get a fresh start in the next chapter of their lives.

To everyone who donated, volunteered, or offered support: thank you. Our entire community came together to make a meaningful contribution and we are deeply grateful.

When a community comes together, its collective power can create miracles that individuals never could. Thank you for standing with our community.

Anyone else forget that they were going to test the Emergency Alert System? We're awake now! 😜
Seriously though, if you didn't get an alert on your phone, check your settings and if need be, your service provider.

Today at 1:55 PM (PT) - Wednesday, May 6, 2026 - the BC Emergency Alert system will be tested.

During today’s test, the public will hear an alert tone and receive a message on radio, TV and compatible cell phones.

Emergency Alerts are sent to all LTE connected phones and no personal information is collected or stored.

Tip: Cell phones have different user settings like Do Not Disturb, that may affect how an emergency alert is received. Check the settings on your cell phone to ensure you will see and hear emergency alerts.
