Today we introduced Bradley’s Law in honour of Bradley Lowe, his family, his story and his fight.

The Houston government’s choice to deny enhanced income assistance to people living in tents is cruel, plain and simple. This government needs to help people get out of encampments and into stable housing — not make it harder for them to survive.

Homelessness has tripled in Halifax under this government’s watch, and affordable housing remains hard to find. Taking support away from vulnerable Nova Scotians only pushes them further into poverty.

Shelter is a basic need whether you’re living in an apartment, a house, or a tent. Bradley’s Law would ensure that people aren’t denied the income assistance they need simply because they’re homeless.

Nova Scotians are waiting too long for health care: 500 days for a surgery consultation, hours in emergency rooms if they're even open, and weeks or even years to see a doctor or specialist.

The Liberals neglected our health-care system for years. The Houston Conservatives promised to fix it — but five years later, they haven't made a dent. And people are fed up. Nova Scotians deserve a government that takes access to health care seriously.
