ATV Patrol – Bonfield Poker Run

officers alongside District of Nipissing Paramedic Services during the Bonfield Lions ATV Poker Run earlier this spring. With over 300 riders participating, officers conducted extensive checks and engaged with the riding community throughout the day.

This week is ATV Safety Week (June 1-7): Great time for a reminder that safe riding starts with smart choices.
• Wear a helmet – half of ATV fatalities involve riders not wearing one
• Ride sober – alcohol/drugs are a factor in nearly half of fatal incidents
• Follow the rules of the trail and respect others

Whether you're riding for recreation or at organized events, make safety part of every ride. ^kb

^kb

Better care comes from partnerships like this.

Last year, DNSSAB and Nipissing Wellness Ontario Health Team launched a new mobile clinic vehicle and the Clinical Access Mobile Partnership (CAMP) program to expand community health care through outreach.

Better care really does come from the people behind it, including Dan Raymond, Deputy Chief of Operations, who received the Governor General’s Emergency Medical Services Exemplary Service Medal Bar for 30 years of exemplary paramedic service in November 2025.

Paramedics face challenging and often traumatic situations. Supporting paramedic mental health and resilience ensures they can continue providing safe, effective care. Thank a paramedic today, it goes a long way. Better care starts with healthy providers.

Better care means having the right tools to respond when it matters most.

DNSSAB’s new Off-Road Response Program provides Nipissing Paramedics with an additional way to respond in areas where traditional ambulances may face access challenges, helping to improve access to care across the district.
