What a week in Délı̨nę.
This year's Innovator's Showcase brought students from all five Sahtu schools together on the shores of Great Bear Lake. The theme was Make It Move, and our innovators did exactly that. They programmed Photon robots, drove cars by code, built balloon-powered vehicles out of bottles, worked their way through robot mazes, and launched paper airplanes across the room.
Watching students from across the region learn together, laugh together, and figure things out together was something special. These kinds of weeks don't come around often, and we're so grateful they did.
A huge thank you to Imperial. Your support made all of this possible, and we mean it when we say none of it happens without you.
Thank you to Ɂehtsʼéo Ayha School for hosting us so warmly, and to every educator, student, and family who showed up and made the week what it was. See you next school year in Tulı́t'a and Colville Lake.

Sahtu schools celebrated yet another STEM Innovators’ Showcase on May 6 2026. Thirty students demonstrated and participated in challenges that drew on their science, technology, engineering and mathematics learning and skills. Imperial Oil Norman Wells Operations donated $50,000 in support of Sahtu student success in STEM. Well done students! Keep wrestling with northern challenges and applying your innovation and creativity to find northern solutions!

Last December, students from across the Sahtú came together online for our Innovators Showcase "Across the North Edition" sharing their ideas, creativity, and growing skills in areas like coding, design, and problem-solving.
The showcase highlights work from every SDEC school, reflecting the talent, effort, and potential building in our communities every day.
This May, we’re excited to bring the showcase in person to Délı̨nę! Where we will host our fourth Innovators Showcase together In the Sahtu!
Enjoy the video.
