***Reminder***

The garbage bins located at the boat launch are intended for regular household waste and are provided as a convenience for residents who may occasionally miss their regular garbage pickup day.

Commercial and construction materials are not accepted. If you are renovating, you may arrange for your own bin.

In addition, metal posts were recently left at the transfer station. Metal posts are not an accepted recyclable material and create additional disposal costs for the Village.

Garbage disposal costs for the Village totaled $36,141 in 2025. To help control these expenses, residents are asked to use the facilities responsibly and dispose of materials through the appropriate channels.

Thank you for your cooperation.

***Fire Ban Lifted***

While conditions have improved, fire safety remains everyone's responsibility.

Please exercise caution when having campfires, fire pits, or other permitted outdoor fires. Never leave a fire unattended, keep a water source or appropriate extinguishing equipment nearby, and ensure the area around the fire is free of dry grass, leaves, and other combustible materials.

Before leaving, make sure your fire is completely extinguished. Douse it thoroughly with water, stir the ashes, and continue adding water until all embers are cool to the touch. A fire that appears out can still reignite if not properly extinguished.

Weather conditions can change quickly, and strong winds can increase the risk of fire spread. If conditions become unsafe, postpone burning activities until conditions improve.

Thank you for helping keep our community safe and reducing the risk of wildfires. Your cooperation and vigilance are appreciated.

As previously communicated, changes are coming to the recycling program.

Effective May 29, 2026, the recycling bin at the boat launch area will be removed and replaced with a larger container located just outside the gate at the transfer station. It will be placed in the same area currently designated for clean wood and branches. Please use this new location for all recyclables moving forward, and refer to the map below for assistance in finding the site.

Going forward, residential recycling pickup will no longer be available, therefore, all recycling will need to be dropped off at the transfer station instead. Please ensure items are placed loose and not in bags, and compacted as much as reasonably as possible. The poster below outlines what materials can be recycled.

We truly appreciate your cooperation and participation in the program, as it helps keep overall garbage costs down, which were $36,141 in 2025.

Thank you for doing your part!
