St Davids, Regional Council
Is asking for money to design the st David Roundabout read below
The good part is Airport rd and 55 will see major k improvements
Yes there is a project J_20000928 “Intersection Improvement – RR100 Four Mile Creek at York Road, NOTL” requesting $750,000 in the 2023 Capital Budget. The amount is for design work with a forecast of potential construction in 2025 subject to future year Council approvals.
The project details are on pages 174/175 of the Capital Budget document (attached for your convenience).
It is proposed to be 100% funded from Development Charges because the improvement serves a growth need. As submitted this project has $0 assigned to the property tax levy in the 2023 Capital Budget.
The Capital Budget was before the Budget Review Committee of the Whole on Thursday January 5, 2023 and is scheduled to be brought to Council for final approval on February 23, 2023.
The two intersections Mr. Miele references on Airport Rd RR55 in NOTL are also in the Capital Budget request. They are project J_20001193 and the request is for $4,250,000 to complete detailed design and construction commencing in 2023. This project is also 100% development charge funded/$0 on property tax levy.
In both cases the justification to proceed is to address growth not to address existing conditions. But, clearly we would design to provide the safest operation that is practical.
I hope this is helpful information.
