Today’s bee sting wasn’t even from a bee. 🐝😅

I brushed my hand against the leg of my bee suit and somehow found a stray stinger that had been left behind from a previous inspection. It slid right under my fingernail.

No warning buzz.
No angry guard bee.
No dramatic hive moment.

Just me… getting stung by a bee that wasn’t even there.

After hundreds of stings, you’d think I’d have seen them all. Apparently the bees still have a few tricks left up their sleeves… or in this case, on mine. 😂

Some days in the bee yards humble you.

Today was 8 straight hours of stings. Through the suit, through the gloves, finding every spot they could. I still don’t know what shifted — weather, pressure, energy in the yard, maybe just one of those days — but I hit my max tolerance for bee venom today.

And yet… even in the chaos, there’s respect.

The bees were doing exactly what they’re meant to do: protect the hive at all costs. Strong hives. Strong instincts. Strong season ahead.

Beekeeping isn’t always the slow-motion golden light moments you see online. Sometimes it’s sweat, swollen hands, aching joints, and driving home wondering why you do this to yourself.

Until you’re back in the hives again tomorrow.

There’s a strange kind of peace that exists inside a hive.

Thousands of bees moving with purpose. The steady hum of wings. The scent of wax, honey, propolis, and spring air. And somehow, in the middle of all that movement, everything slows down.

Hive inspections aren’t just work for me anymore. They’ve become a place where the noise of the world fades out and instinct takes over. A reminder to stay grounded, stay present, and trust the process.

Completely surrounded by bees… and completely at peace. 🐝✨
