CALLING ALL STORYTELLERS! 🎭

Deshkan Ziibiing Members, we need your voices.

There's something powerful about hearing our own story told by our own people β€” and that's exactly what we're hoping to do. We're casting script readers for the Longwoods Treaty Play (Deshkan Ziibiing N'Doonjibaa) at the upcoming Big Bear Creek Engagement, and we'd love for you to be part of it.

You don't need any acting experience. You don't need to be perfect. You just need to be willing to show up and lend your voice to something that matters to all of us.

COTTFN Volunteers needed in the Community Garden! 🌱

The Heritage Department has been working hard to prepare the raised beds and fill the water unit, but we still need helping hands to get the garden ready for planting.

We’re looking for volunteers to help w**d the community garden beds on June 11 and 12. Whether you can stop by for 20 minutes or stay for a few hours, every bit of help makes a difference.

Water and snacks will be provided. Please bring a hat, sunscreen, and garden gloves if you have them.

More news about the upcoming Paswe'aatigook graduation!

Following the graduation ceremony celebrations will continue with Karaoke with Russ!

Caring Hearts, the community volunteer group that prepares funeral luncheons, will be fundraising. You can purchase an Indian taco combo for $10, or a hot dog combo for $10. Corn soup will also be available.

Graduation ceremony is at 6pm.
Karaoke starts at 7pm.

We are excited to announce our rescheduled date for Paswe’aatigook Adult Anishinaabemowin Fanshawe Course Graduation for the class of 2025/2026! Our new date is Friday June 12th, doors open for Invited guests at 4pm with dinner starting at 5. Event open to public and ceremonies starting at 6pm. Karaoke and celebrations to start ~7pm-10pm. We look forward to celebrating our graduates and hosting the community for this special occasion.
