Meet our 2026 summer staff! ๐Ÿ˜Žโค
Abby is back for their third summer as a museum assistant. Since last year, they have started their Masters degree in History at the Memorial University of Newfoundland. Abby's Masters project focuses on Mary Watts-Parsons, a woman who lived in Harbour Grace during the mid-nineteenth century and her connections to the empire through her personal correspondence. Abby also enjoys taking their dog on walks, crafting, and playing Pokemon games. This summer, they will be focused on working with the museumโ€™s collections and artifacts.
Amy graduated from Memorial University with a B.A in Anthropology and English Literature. This upcoming fall, she will be off to Ontario to study Museum Management and Curatorship at Fleming College, pursuing her longtime goal of working in museum and gallery spaces. Amy has worked in visitor centres and historic sites over the last few years, and one of her favourite things about this field of work is inspiring people to look around and learn about all the amazing things we take for granted in our province. In her spare time, Amy enjoys hiking, knitting, playing video games, and collecting vintage technology.
Tanner has recently graduated from Memorial University with an Honours in English Literature. His passions are education and storytelling; from history to science to a loose bag of facts only useful during local trivia nights, Tanner has always strived to learn and become more curious about the world. Tanner feels that historical studies are at their best when it comes alive within peopleโ€™s stories, and sharing that pleasure with others is a fantastic way to spend the summer. When not at the museum he can usually be found reading, writing, on stage, or running after his dog.
We'll also have a fourth summer staff member joining us in July, so stay tuned for the reveal! Full bios on our blog: https://admiraltymuseumblog.blogspot.com/2026/05/meet-our-2026-summer-staff.html
