MORRISBURG BEACH WASHROOMS CLOSED DUE TO VANDALISM

The Morrisburg Beach washrooms are temporarily closed, following an act of deliberate vandalism that occurred overnight.

The facility is closed, effective immediately, and will remain closed for a minimum of eight weeks, a significant portion of the summer season. Repairs are estimated at approximately $7,000, and we are deeply disappointed that our community must bear this burden. The Municipality is actively working to put an interim solution in place so that beach visitors are not left without washroom facilities during this time.

These facilities exist for every family, child, and visitor who comes to enjoy the Morrisburg Beach. They are funded by taxpayers and maintained with public resources. What happened last night shows a complete disregard for this community. South Dundas deserves better. Public spaces belong to all of us.

If you witness something suspicious, please report it. Do not stay silent. Help us hold those responsible accountable.

📢Weed-spraying activities are complete!

Mowing season is now underway, so if you put up a sign asking crews to skip your property, please take it down to let the mowers through.

Thank you for your kind support!

WEED-SPRAYING ACTIVITIES ARE COMPLETE

Thank you to residents far and wide for your help during our weed-spraying season. Weed-spraying takes place on the municipal right-of-way to improve sightlines.

Some private signs were installed by homeowners throughout our region, advising crews to avoid spraying at their property. This is standard procedure every spring, and we welcome the feedback from residents.

We are now pivoting to mowing season. As a result, we are asking residents to remove their signage to allow for the passage of mowers. Signs left in place will be removed, and disposed of, by SDG Counties.

Not unlike weed-spraying, mowing activities improve the sightlines of our road network.

Thank you for your kind support :)
