♻️ Important Update: Community Led Recycling Program ♻️

Effective June 1, 2026, the Town of Moosomin has transitioned to a Community-Led Recycling Program. This change reflects the Town's move to a Community-Led Recycling Program while continuing to provide residential garbage & recycling collection services.

As a result, the residential Garbage & Recycling Fee will be adjusted:
✅ Previous quarterly fee: $57.00 (Garbage & Recycling)
✅ New quarterly fee: $27.00 (Garbage Only)

What does this mean for your utility bill?

📌 Next Billing Cycle (May, June & July 2026):
Since recycling services were still provided during May, there will be one month of recycling charges included on this bill. As a result, the basic utility bill will be $326.00.

📌 Fourth Quarterly Billing Cycle (August, September & October 2026):
With the recycling charge fully removed, the basic utility bill will be reduced to $316.00.

Council is pleased to be able to provide this cost savings to residents by reducing utility costs. In today's ever-changing economy, we understand that every dollar matters, and we are happy to offer a program that helps lower household expenses while continuing to provide essential services.

🧹🚛 Town-Wide CLEAN-UP day & FREE TRANSFER STATION ACCESS 🚛🧹

As part of our Town-Wide Community Clean-Up on June 4, 2026, we are going to offer FREE access to the Transfer Station from June 4–6, 2026 during regular operating hours!

🗓️ Transfer Station Hours:
• Tuesday to Saturday: 12:00 PM – 6:45 PM
• Closed Sunday and Monday

⚠️ IMPORTANT NOTICE ⚠️

If you haven't visited our temporary Transfer Station recently, please be aware that the process has changed.

🚫 Garbage can no longer be dumped into an open pile.
✅ All waste must be lifted and placed into the designated bins provided on site.

These temporary procedures are in place while we await completion of the new Transfer Station facility.

Please come prepared to unload your materials into the bins and plan accordingly.

🎉🛍️ Thank You, Moosomin! 🛍️🎉

A huge thank you to everyone who participated in our Town-Wide Garage Sale Day on Saturday!

From sellers cleaning out their garages to shoppers hunting for hidden treasures, the town was buzzing with activity all day long. It was wonderful to see so many residents and visitors out and about, supporting one another and enjoying everything our community has to offer.

The streets were busy, the sales were plentiful, and the atmosphere was fantastic a great reminder of what makes Moosomin such a vibrant community. 🏡❤️

Thank you to everyone who hosted a sale, shopped local, shared our event information, and helped make the day such a success.

There has not been nearly enough census participation from Moosomin residents, so if you have not yet completed your Census of Population, please take a few minutes to do so.

We have received a few questions regarding the Census and wanted to provide some clarification for residents.

Census workers have until the end of day today, May 11, 2026, to deliver census forms.

If you have not received your census by the end of today, or have not completed it by May 12, please do not worry there is still time to submit your information.

May 12 is considered a reference date, not a deadline, and residents can still complete their census online after May 12.

Please check out the article in this week’s World-Spectator newspaper, which explains how to go about getting counted if you did not receive a form.

🏀 Terry Lynd Basketball Court Update 🏀

Following review and discussion at the latest Town Council meeting, updated signage will be installed at the Terry Lynd Basketball Court regarding quiet hours.

The court remains open for community use; quiet time will be in effect daily from:

🌙 10:00 PM – 7:00 AM 🌙

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation and consideration for nearby residents while continuing to enjoy this great community space. Thank you for helping keep the court welcoming and respectful for all! 😊

🏀 Community Notice – Terry Lynd Basketball Court 🏀

We would like to remind residents that the Terry Lynd Basketball Court is located in a residential area, and we ask everyone using the court to please be respectful of nearby homes and neighbors.

To help reduce late night noise concerns and to comply with the Town’s Noise Bylaw, signage will be installed outlining the court’s hours of operation:

🕖 Open Daily: 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM

The Town of Moosomin is currently accepting applications for a full-time position with our Public Works Department – Construction Crew.

Applicants must possess a minimum Class 3A driver’s license. Experience in Heavy Equipment Operation and Mechanical Repair will be considered an asset.
