🎨 Riding for the Brand 🤠🐄

Take a walk through Moose Jaw and you’ll find incredible stories painted right onto our downtown buildings!

“Riding for the Brand”, located on the east wall of Ashdown’s Furniture at 38 High St W, pays tribute to the cattlemen and cattlewomen who have helped shape Saskatchewan’s agricultural history.

Created by artist Grant McLaughlin, the mural was commissioned by the Saskatchewan Stock Growers Association to celebrate their 100th anniversary. At its centre is a photo of the organization’s original founders, surrounded by a scene depicting an early cattle drive to the rail yard.

The phrase “Riding for the Brand” is an old West expression describing a loyal and dedicated ranch hand, a fitting title for a mural honouring the generations who have dedicated themselves to Saskatchewan’s cattle industry. 🐎🌾
