P3 tip number 4: Prevention is ALWAYS better than Cure. This one follows up on yesterday's "Most likely location to get attacked" post.
Sadly, Susan McLean and the other women who commented are correct, you are most likely suffer physical/sexual/emotional assault in a private home, either your own home or the home of someone you care about and trust. Or trusted, up until that fateful moment.
Learning to detect AND ACT ON the warning signs of impending danger is the best, simplest, and in fact easiest way to stay safe.
My biggest influence in developing P3 is Gavin de Becker, probably the world's foremost expert on the prediction of violence. There is a FREE risk assessment tool on his website, and I recommend his classic, easy-to-read book, The Gift of Fear.
