Peel Children's Aid Society

Peel Children's Aid Society We champion the safety and well-being of children and youth based on their unique needs while strengthening families. Some families just need parenting support.

Peel Children’s Aid Society strives to ensure the safety and well-being of the community’s most vulnerable with a focus on diversity, equity and inclusion. Through culturally competent services, with the support of our Peel community, we help parents and caregivers build healthy families and provide a safe environment for children and youth. We believe that children and youth belong at home with t

heir families whenever possible, and will do everything we can to keep families together. Families we work with may be facing challenges such as poverty, unemployment, ill health, domestic violence, mental health issues, or caring for a child who has serious physical, emotional or developmental difficulties. Peel CAS works with the family to determine the kind of supports they need, and links them with the appropriate community services. Together, Peel CAS and our partners work with children and families for a stronger, healthier community.

🌈 Peel CAS celebrated last week with a special presentation by Diane Kilby, Senator of the Grand River Métis Council and proud 2 Spirit advocate. Thanks to Diane for joining us and sharing her perspective with our staff. Learning opportunities like this help us deepen our understanding of the diverse experiences within the 2SLGBTQ+ community, foster inclusion, and better support young people and their families in feeling seen, respected, and valued.

Wishing everyone a very happy ! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

This week Peel CAS opened a newly expanded Toronto Pearson airport office, reflecting our commitment to innovation, partnership, and early intervention. We are so proud to establish an airport presence that strengthens timely access to child protection and support services for children, youth, and families.

The office will also provide services from our Child Welfare Immigration Centre of Excellence (CWICE) and nCourage Anti-Human Trafficking Hub to assist children and youth whose immigration status or vulnerabilities may increase their risk of exploitation. By bringing together system partners in this space, we are creating a coordinated, child and youth friendly response that improves access to support where and when it is needed most.

🌍 The world is at our doorstep.

We were honoured to attend the 4th Annual CeleBrave Gala hosted by Embrave: Agency to End Violence - an inspiring evening dedicated to supporting survivors and strengthening communities impacted by intimate partner violence.

Congratulations to Embrave and everyone involved on raising an incredible $89,000 in support of survivors in our community 💜

At Peel CAS, intimate partner violence represents approximately one third of all referrals we receive. As the complexity and severity of IPV cases continue to rise, partnerships and collaboration across our community are more important than ever.

We are proud to work alongside organizations like Embrave and our partners at the Safe Centre of Peel to help support, empower, and create safer futures for children, youth, and families across Peel Region. 💜
