Peel Paramedic Association

Peel Paramedic Association The Peel Paramedic Association (PPA) was formed in 2004 after the sudden death of Paramedic Murray Charland.

During this period of mourning several employees of the Paramedic service recognized the need for a non-partisan organization to work toward continuing the feeling of unity that had occurred. The role of the PPA quickly expanded to include Lobby efforts towards local, provincial and federal officials. Our role also expanded to include community health and safety programs and the promotion of the P

aramedic Profession as a whole. In November of 2004 the PPA was officially incorporated as a not for profit Charity that is registered with Revenue Canada. This decision was made to help create an organization that was designed for longevity, transparency and receptiveness to local needs. The PPA was incorporated under the following tenets:

* The promotion and protection of health and safety within the community
* To promote and participate in all phases of education pertaining to health care, including specifically the education of paramedic professionals
* To liaise with other charitable, non-profit community and government agencies in the promotion of health, pre-hospital care and emergency responses within the community. As a registered charity we are required to submit details of our finances to the Canada Revenue Agency, details of which may be found on their website. We are recognized by both the Ontario Paramedic Association and the Paramedic Association of Canada as an active and effective chapter of each, in the Province of Ontario. The PPA is all inclusive and enjoys drawing it's membership from both management and road staff. We support all aspects of Paramedicine and advocate for the highest level of Pre-Hospital care in the community. The Region of Peel is the operator of paramedic services for Caledon, Bolton, Brampton and Mississauga while the Paramedics are represented by OPSEU Local 277 for labour relations purposes.

The PPA is very happy to support Artists in the Ambulance, a live music night and art auction that showcases the talents of Ontario paramedics. The show is founded and organized by PPA member . Our contribution will help cover operating costs, so that the proceeds can go to Wounded Warriors Canada to support first responder mental health. We are also donating some incredible first aid kits to be auctioned off.

The show takes place on Sun May 17 in Toronto. Info and ticket link can be found at

**Medic Moose Hits the Ice! 🏒**

Last night, our favorite paramedic mascot, Medic Moose, took some time off from saving the day to enjoy a thrilling hockey game! 🦌💚 Watching the puck drop, cheering on the teams, and connecting with fans in the stands made for an unforgettable evening. Medic Moose loves being part of this amazing community and supporting local sports.
