Election season is upon us!

The positions are available for the election:

President
•Responsible for ensuring the success of the organization

•Responsible for maintaining positive relationship with UTM community, including the students, faculty, and student union

•Responsible for setting the vision for the organization

•Responsible for good financial standing of SFT-UTM

•Responsible for thoroughly understanding the operations of SFT-UTM

•Responsible for providing support to other executive members when necessary

•Responsible for organizing the logistics of the elections

•Responsible for booking venues for events

•Responsible for co-signing cheques

Vice President
•Responsible for internal communications with general members/ executives of SFT-UTM

•Responsible for supporting the President and assisting executives with any issues

•Responsible for maintaining positive relationships with news outlets including, but not limited to, The Medium, & UTM TV

Creative Director
•Responsible for working with the Director of Marketing to ensure successful ex*****on of creative vision for each SFT-UTM event

•Responsible for the creation of graphic and promotional materials for SFT-UTM

Director of Finance
•Responsible for documenting all financial activities of SFT-UTM

•Responsible for collecting and storing all receipts pertaining to SFT-UTM

•Responsible for conducting financial audits

•Responsible for reporting financial standing every four weeks

•Responsible for providing budget recommendations for events

Events Director
•Responsible for maintaining an updated timeline of SFT-UTM operations for the year

•Responsible for ensuring event spending remains within allocated budget

•Responsible for ensuring success of each SFT-UTM event

Director of Marketing
•Responsible for creating marketing plans for the various events and initiatives held throughout the year

•Responsible for managing the clubs over all brand image

•Responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting analytics for each SFT-UTM event

•Responsible for managing club’s social media presence

We are pleased to announce our next panelist, Chemi Lhamo! 🗣🙏🏼

Chemi Lhamo is a Tibetan Activist and currently serves as the President of the Scarborough Campus Student Union. She is doing her Bachelor’s degree with a double major in Neuroscience and Psychology, along with a minor in Biology at the University of Toronto. In her young years, she already has a wide range of experience in activism, politics, and community organizing. For her resilience and hard word for the Tibetan community, she received the Tibetan Youth Icon Award in 2019.

We are excited to announce our first panelist, Rukiye Turdush!

Rukiye, an ethnic Uyghur, was born in East Turkistan. She immigrated to Canada in 1999, where she studied International Relations at the University of Windsor and obtained a post-graduate degree at George Brown College. She is a human rights activist and main contributor to the Uyghur Research Institute.

In this session the Monks will offer teachings on mindfulness, stress and anxiety management, self-esteem, & much more. They will then lead you through beneficial meditative practices that you can use in your everyday life. During this session we will specifically focus on breathing exercises. 🌬
