One of the things I've learned after 20+ years in ECE is that what we need isn't always another strategy.

Sometimes we need rest.

Sometimes we need connection.

Sometimes we need community.

Sometimes we need the courage to take the next step.

Going to conferences will always be about the people for me. My recent trip to Rhode Island for the conference was extra special because so many of my favourite people were there.

I got to spend time with and , finally meet .stories.that.stick, .beghin, and in real life after years of connecting online, meet and chat with Paul Buckley of .

There’s something really special about finally hugging people you’ve only ever known through screens and conversations.

I also had the opportunity to connect with so many incredible educators throughout the conference, and those conversations always leave me inspired, energized, and grateful to be part of this profession

Children do not need our praise to know they are worthy.

The most loving thing we can do is help them build an inner sense of self-worth that does not rely on adult approval. Encourage their efforts, notice their process, and support confidence that lasts long after they leave our care.

Just wrapped up a really great conversation inside the ECE Latte Lounge 🤍

We had the chance to sit down with Amanda Morgan, author of Not Just Cute, and spend time talking about play, agency, and joy.

A good reminder that play is 1000% possible in any program. It doesn’t come down to having more, it comes down to how we see what’s already there.

I’m legitimately curious.

I think the moon affects children’s behaviour… but apparently, according to the internet, there’s no scientific data to prove it. And yet, anecdotal evidence says that about 80% of teachers and parents believe it does.

So then… wouldn’t that make it something worth paying attention to?

If that many educators are noticing a pattern, surely we are onto something.

I’m thinking I need to find a “moon and behaviour” expert because I feel a podcast episode coming on 🌙
