As part of Women’s History Month, staff were invited to recognize women at Indus who inspire them. We received many thoughtful submissions highlighting women from across our organization.

Today, we like to highlight Angela Monteiro, one of our many loved staff members working in the Adult Day Services program. We encourage everyone to take some time to read the amazing well-written piece below about Angela submitted by another staff member.

"Angela has always stood for raising funds for noble causes, supporting our organization, helping friends in need, and giving back to our community. She truly believe in making a difference through kindness, generosity, and a spirit of helping others. Angela demonstrated remarkable kindness and compassion by raising funds to support an individual in the community who was going through family crisis. Through this heartfelt gesture, she offered meaningful support and comfort during an incredibly painful and challenging chapter of that individual’s life, reminding her that she was not alone in her time of distress. In today’s busy world, where people hardly find time for their own families, she cares for others too."

On Thursday October 15th, Indus' Family Services team attended Family Services of Peel's Conference on Working with Male Survivors of Sexual Assault and Trauma: Advancing the Well-Being of Boys and Men. It was a valuable opportunity to learn, reflect, and connect around strengthening supports for male survivors of sexual violence and trauma.

Our team also hosted an exhibitor table, where we connected with community partners, shared information about Indus' services, and explored opportunities to strengthen culturally responsive supports for men and male youth.
