Miramichi Accessible Transit

Miramichi Accessible Transit Miramichi Accessible Transit is a non profit organization. This service is also available to seniors on a demand basis at a low cost to the individual.

We provide transportation, which enables our clients to perform the necessities of life that most of us take for granted. Miramichi Accessible Transit is a non-profit organization which provides transportation to challenged individuals enabling them to attend school, maintain employment, obtain medical service and partake in community life. What you may not know is that services, save for a small

grant from the City of Miramichi and a contract from the school board for the students, are financed almost entirely through fundraising. The costs associated with providing such a service are large and are increasing every day; just fuel and insurance require a major effort to maintain. With the help of our volunteers, we sell tickets, have yard sales, barbeques and many other ventures to assist with covering rising costs for fuel, insurance, supplies, utilities, and other maintenance of the buses

This is a service that is vital to our community and we are asking for your help so that we may continue to keep our service operating. Caring for one another is part of being a good citizen. How you can help:
•Assist with our fund-raising events
•Make a donation; no donation is too small
•Support and take part in our many events
•Volunteer some of your free time
•When making a bequest, remember us
•Take part in our Fast Cash 50/50 Lotto

Remembering Robert “Bobby” James Crowley

It is with sadness that we share the passing of Robert “Bobby” James Crowley, beloved husband of Pansy Crowley of Miramichi, NB. Bobby passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at Miramichi Hospital at the age of 70.

Born in Campbellton, NB, Bobby was the son of the late Jack and Leah (Poole) Crowley.

Bobby dedicated much of his working life to driving. He spent more than 20 years with Hoyt’s Moving and Storage before beginning a 13-year career as a Miramichi Accessible Transit bus driver. His commitment to helping others extended beyond his paid work, as he also volunteered with Miramichi Accessible Transit during his time away from work.

In addition to his wife, Bobby will be sadly missed by his children, Sara Crowley (Marc Robichaud) and Kayla Crowley MacDonald (Jeff Ferron), both of Miramichi; siblings Cathy LaPointe (Raynald) of Pointe-aux-St. Croix, Quebec, Dennis Crowley (Sandra) of Tide Head and Johnny Crowley of Dalhousie; brothers-in-law Johnny Harquail (Bev) and Curtis Fraser (Mary); sisters-in-law Christina Adams (Larry) and Wendy Sullivan (Renee); grandchildren Tory Theriault, Chloe MacDonald, Andrew MacDonald, Gabriel Savoie, Noah Savoie and Jaeden Sampson; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends.

Bobby was predeceased by his parents; his twin sister Peggy Harquail; infant brother Brian; niece Rachel Adams; and in-laws Fern Sullivan (Jim) and Douglas Fraser.

For 13 years, Bobby helped people get where they needed to go. His dedication to Miramichi Accessible Transit, both as a driver and volunteer, touched many lives. He will be remembered not only for the miles he travelled, but for the people he helped along the way.
