Our community quilts are a beautiful reflection of who we are.

This year, each student added a leaf, to each quilt creating something meaningful together. Two parents from our school community lovingly created the tree, and every leaf placed by our students helped bring it to life.

The quilt celebrates our differences—each leaf unique in colour, shape, and story—while reminding us that we are all rooted in the same place. Together, we grow, belong, and strengthen our community.

Thank you to the parents who created this special piece and to every student who made it their own.

We’re proud to celebrate Mrs. Abbinett on her retirement after 20 years at Mornington. A strong, supportive presence, she truly embodies what it means to be part of a community. Her impact on students, staff, and families has been lasting—wishing her all the very best! 💚 Today, we wore green to show our love and appreciation, her favourite colour.

Happy Principals’ Day to colleagues near and far across the province. I’m especially proud to serve such an inspiring and supportive community here at Mornington! ❤️

Today we proudly recognize Pink Shirt Day — a powerful reminder that kindness matters and that bullying has no place in our school community. 💗

Pink Shirt Day began in Canada and continues to grow each year as students and staff stand together to promote inclusion, acceptance, and respect. By wearing pink, we show that we support one another and are committed to creating a safe, caring environment for everyone.

At our school, we believe that small acts of kindness make a big difference. Let’s continue to lift each other up, choose compassion, and speak out against bullying — today and every day.

What an exciting week at Mornington! We were thrilled to welcome some very special guests: community member Orval Zehrs, representatives from Chatterhigh Laura Briscoe, our Director Shantz, and Mayor Ritsma. Their visit was inspiring and a wonderful reminder of the strong connections we have between our school and community.
