Have you seen this plaque at Milton District Hospital?

As we recognize National Indigenous History Month, we invite our community to take a moment to reflect on the histories, cultures, traditions, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and MĂ©tis Peoples.

Located within our hospital, this permanent land acknowledgment plaque was installed as part of Halton Healthcare's commitment to reconciliation and culturally safe healthcare. The plaque was designed by Indigenous artist Tessa-Lynne Chartrand and serves as a meaningful reminder of the lands we gather on and our ongoing journey toward learning, understanding, and respect.

This month, we encourage everyone to take time to listen, learn, and deepen their understanding of Indigenous histories and perspectives as we work together to build a more inclusive community.

Today, our community came together to support women and girls facing mental health challenges through Run for Women in support of Halton Healthcare.

Together, we raised over $133,000 to help expand access to mental health care, peer support, education, and innovative programs for women and girls across our region.

Because of your generosity, more individuals will receive the care and support they need — when they need it most.

Advanced surgical care didn’t take Spencer far from home. It took him just five minutes down the road to Milton District Hospital.

After being diagnosed with prostate cancer, Spencer underwent minimally invasive surgery using the da Vinci Surgical System- returning home the next day and getting back to his normal activities within weeks.

This is one example of how advanced surgical technology is helping bring care closer to home across Halton Healthcare.
