Labour Day has always felt like the beginning of something new. It marks the start of a new school year, new routines and a fresh season ahead.
This year, it feels like the perfect time to reintroduce myself and begin a renewed chapter for Melville Paralegal Services.

My work in disability-benefit matters is informed by more than legal training. I have spent more than 40 years living life with lupus and navigating chronic illness, disability and complex administrative systems.
I understand how exhausting it can be to explain your limitations repeatedly while managing symptoms, medical appointments, medications and uncertainty. That experience strengthens the compassion I bring to this work while preserving the objectivity and professionalism required of a legal representative.

Although my residential tenancy practice primarily represents landlords, selected tenant matters may be accepted on a case-by-case basis.
Services may include reviewing and responding to a landlordโs application, assisting with selected T2 or T6 applications, organizing supporting evidence, preparing chronologies and exhibits, preparing tenants and witnesses for a hearing, and representation before the Landlord and Tenant Board.

Obtaining a judgment or Landlord and Tenant Board order does not automatically result in payment.
I assist judgment creditors with selected enforcement measures, including written demands for payment, negotiated payment arrangements, examination hearings, requests for financial disclosure, garnishment proceedings, writs of seizure and sale, and the enforcement of eligible LTB orders through the Ontario Small Claims Court.

Melville Paralegal Services recognizes that many people work during traditional business hours. Court and tribunal proceedings also frequently take place during the day.
For those reasons, evening and weekend appointments are available by arrangement for legal consultations, client meetings, notary public services and commissioning appointments. This helps clients schedule appointments around work, health and family responsibilities while allowing me to provide focused, undivided attention.
Daytime appointments are also available for clients who require or prefer them.
Outside of my professional work, I am a mother, volunteer, chronic illness advocate and someone who continues to live a full life with lupus. These experiences have taught me resilience, patience and the importance of meeting people where they are.
My clients can expect honest communication, respectful support, careful preparation and clear explanations. I cannot promise a particular outcome, but I will listen, carefully assess the available information and provide a straightforward explanation of the process and available options.
