Effective Immediately – Issued Under Bylaw #2023-010

Vulcan County will continue to actively monitor moisture levels and fire conditions. Please be advised that a Fire Restriction or Fire Ban may be re-issued at any time with little to no notice. Residents are encouraged to regularly check the Vulcan County website and AlbertaFireBans.ca for updates to fire status. If a Restriction or Ban is reinstated, all fires must be immediately and fully extinguished.

Fire Permit Information:

Fire permits will be reviewed Monday through Friday, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Permits submitted on weekends or statutory holidays will not be reviewed until the next business day.

To report smoke or fire, call 911 immediately.

If you haven't completed your questionnaire yet and we follow up with you, here’s how to recognize official census communications:

📩 Reminder letters will be sent by mail or delivered in person, which will contain a secure access code to complete the census questionnaire online.

🪪 In person follow-ups will be conducted by employees with an identification card.

📱 Text message reminders may also be sent from the text message short code number 236732.

📞 If a follow-up phone call to a household is needed, the census employees will identify themselves clearly.

Effective Immediately – Issued Under Bylaw #2023-010

Under the authority of the Vulcan County Fire Services Bylaw #2023-010, Vulcan County has CANCELLED the Fire Restriction and ENACTED A FIRE ADVISORY in accordance with Sections 13.1 and 13.2 of the Bylaw.

Vulcan County has received sufficient moisture to support this change. However, we continue to monitor conditions closely and may update the fire status at any time.

What This Means:

Fire Permits are currently being issued, but may be revoked without notice if conditions deteriorate.
If a Fire Ban or Restriction is reimposed, all open fires must be fully and immediately extinguished.
Permits are reviewed Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.
Permit requests received on weekends or holidays will be processed the next business day.
This Fire Advisory remains in effect until further notice.
