📣Please be advised that the 2026 Fall Leaf and Yard Curbside Collection for Cavan, Millbrook and North Monaghan residents will take place the following weeks:

👉Week of October 12 to 16, 2026
👉Week of October 26 to 30, 2026
👉Week of November 9 to 13, 2026
👉Week of November 23 to 27, 2026

Please Note: A single collection will occur during each week listed above. Collection may occur on any day of the week!!

🍂Please have brush bundled in 3-foot lengths, with each bundle weighing no more than 30 pounds, and leaves in paper leaf bags. Please have all material to the curb on Monday at 7:00 a.m.
🛑No Plastic Bags Please. 🛑

♻️Yard waste in reusable bins will be accepted along with brown paper bags as long as there is no mixed garbage with it.

If you have missed the Leaf and Yard Waste collection, you can drop off all year round at the Peterborough Waste Management Facility (1260 Bensfort Road, Peterborough), please see their website for applicable fees.

🚒💚 Do You Know What a Green Light Means? 💚🚒

As we head into the fall season, you may notice green flashing lights on some vehicles in our community.

A green light identifies a volunteer firefighter responding to an emergency call. These dedicated individuals leave their homes, workplaces, and families to help protect our community when duty calls.

When you see a green light:
✅ Stay alert
✅ Drive safely
✅ When safe to do so, yield the right of way according to local traffic laws

Please be advised that the Township is undertaking two Class Environmental Assessments for Water and Wastewater in North Monaghan.

This Class EA will determine servicing requirements to support strategic growth in North Monaghan.

Public consultation is critical to the success of the study. We welcome your comments and will provide opportunities for your input throughout the study. There will be a Public Information Centre (PIC) scheduled, providing an opportunity to share information, obtain your input and respond to questions. Further details on the upcoming PIC will be provided as the project progresses. The Class EA is planned to be completed in 2028.

Please be advised that curbside garbage pick-up has been delayed until Saturday September 12th.

The following locations will be affected:
Millbrook, Cedar Valley Rd., Hutchison Line, County Rd. 21 (east of Millbrook), Fallis Line, Valleyview Dr., Morningside Place, Towerhill South Subdivision, Huston St., Carveth Dr., Elgar Dr., and White Birch Rd.

Recycling and curbside organics are not affected. Please have garbage to the curb by 7:00 a.m.
