A little piece of the Harvest Supper to take home. 🍂

We’re delighted to offer "Harvest Sky," a limited edition run of reduction linocut prints by artist Michelle Wiebe, created in celebration of our Harvest Supper Fundraiser. We have a selection of numbered prints remaining available for purchase in our Gallery Shop.

These beautiful, hand-made prints are a special opportunity to bring home an original work of art while directly supporting the Leighton Art Centre and the programs that keep art, creativity, and community thriving.

Once they’re gone, they’re gone - so don’t miss your chance to add one to your collection and take home a lasting reminder of the stunning foothills skies.

Thank You for a Beautiful Harvest Supper!

We are so grateful to everyone who made this year's Harvest Supper Fundraiser such a fantastic event!

To the incredible artists who donated artwork to our silent auction and printing permissions for our Fund-A-Need print wall – your talent and generosity truly light up our community and we thank you for helping us raise vital funds for our programming.

To the wonderful performers from Corps Bara Dance Theatre (), thank you for sharing an excerpt of "Into the Wilderness." Your performance was breathtaking and helped end the evening on a special note.

And to our amazing volunteers who helped with set up in the days leading up to and during the event – we couldn’t have done it without you! Thank you to Devour Catering for once again preparing such a delicious meal and ensuring everything ran smoothly for our guests.

And a very special thank you goes to Michelle Wiebe who captured the spirit of the evening with her stunning limited edition prints. Your creativity and presence added something truly magical to the night.

To our attendees, donors, and auction bidders, thank you for sharing in an evening of creativity, connection, and celebration. Your support through fundraisers like these help sustain the arts in the Foothills and keeps the spirit of the Leighton Art Centre thriving. We’re so grateful to be part of such a passionate and inspiring community.

We are wrapping up our Sunset Hours this summer and will be open late one more time on Friday, September 25, until 9 pm.

This night will be even more special because it is the kick-off of our Paint the Foothills plein air painting competition! We will have painters on-site throughout the day, with many sticking around to paint the sun as it sets over the foothills. Come by and watch them work, soak in the sunset, and explore our latest exhibition and gallery offerings.

We'll be open from 10 am to 9 pm, with plein air painters arriving throughout the day.

Even if you're not participating in the Paint the Foothills competition, you are welcome to bring your easel and try your hand at painting outdoors or wander the grounds at golden hour. We can't wait for you to join us!

And don't forget, if you are looking to compete and participate in the wet paint sale, you'll need to pre-register on our website here: https://shorturl.at/zBvii or check out the link in our Linktree.

We're so thrilled for Métis artist Tracey-Mae Chambers to bring her national project, Hope and Healing Canada, to the Leighton Art Centre! Since 2021, Chambers has created over 150 temporary, site-responsive installations at museums, galleries, and historic sites across North America. Using meticulously crafted crochet, knit, and woven red yarns, Chambers has temporarily transformed the Centre’s historic architecture into a vibrant space for reflection.

Situated in the breathtaking Alberta foothills on Treaty 7 territory, this installation challenges viewers to engage in vital conversations about the decolonization of public spaces. By placing her work at a site deeply rooted in local history, Chambers asks: How do we heal together, and who holds the power to tell the stories of this land?

Check out this exhibition in our Upper Gallery from now until October 25. Visit Tuesday to Sunday, 10 am to 4 pm. Admission by donation.
