Mikey’s Place Suspending Operations
It is with regret the Board of Directors announces that Mikey’s Place is suspending its services to the Huronia Community due to the ongoing nature of the COVID-19 pandemic.
During the past year we have been unable to access our offices and provide our usual services. We have made the decision to suspend the limited operation we have tried to maintain by phone, to conserve our finite resources.
Of course this also means we will not doing any fundraising, our main source of financial support for Mikey’s Place operations. This is out of respect to the many businesses that have so generously supported us who are also struggling with the economic effects of the virus.
We will evaluate our options over the next 8-12 months to determine the future operational structure and function of Mikey’s Place.
We are grateful for all of the support you have given us over the 17 year history of Mikey’s Place. We hope that you all follow the best advice of the local public health authorities and are able to stay safe.
In our absence Kerry’s Place for Autism (www.kerrysplace.org) and Autism Ontario (www.autismontario.com) can provide virtual resource supports for families.
