Municipal Law Enforcement Update August 28 to August 30, 2026
Over the period of August 28 to August 30, Township of Tiny By-law Officers were on full patrol responding to calls ranging from signs to noise.

Township By-law Officers patrolled 250km throughout the municipality via bicycles. A total of 32 complaints were responded to for various concerns, and 25 parking tickets were issued.

Reminders
• Personal items cannot be left unattended on municipal property. Remember to take items like chairs, tables, watercraft, umbrellas, and tents with you when you leave the beach.
• The Township of Tiny's new shoreline protection and permit process are temporarily on hold due to appeals of three new by-laws. During the appeal process, the Interim Control By-law remains in effect.
• The parking by-law has been amended to shorten the timeframe that parking permits are needed. The new dates are May 14th to September 15th.

Tiny Fire Tips 🔥

Cooking is the number one cause of home fires.

When it comes to grease fires in the kitchen, Tiny Fire reminds you of these safety tips:

• Remember that water and grease don’t mix - do not try to put out a grease fire with water.
• If you have a small grease fire on the stove, slide a lid over the pot and turn off the stove. Fire needs oxygen to burn - by placing a lid over the pot or pan, you can suppress the fire and cut the oxygen supply.
• If you can’t put a lid on the pot safely, get out of the house and call 911.

Fall flushing of Township of Tiny municipal water systems begins September 8, 2026

To view the 2026 fall water main flushing schedule, please visit our website at tiny.ca/DrinkingWater. The required work will take place during the week, Monday to Friday, only between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

There may be potential water interruptions and discoloured water could stain laundry during these times. If your water remains discoloured or dirty, run the water until it is clear. It is recommended that water softeners are left in by-pass mode during water main flushing.

This is a vital process to ensure the distribution systems are in good working order for when they are needed most.

To be notified when flushing is happening in your area, residents on municipal water are encouraged to sign up for free notifications by app, email, text, or phone call through Tiny Connect at TinyConnect.ca.
