Between September 2013 and March 2014, Halifax Public Libraries will be looking to find new and innovative ways to provide library services in the Musquodoboit Valley. Community Librarian Amanda Fullerton will be meeting with community members and organizations in the area to talk about existing services and discuss opportunities for collaboration. Halifax Public Libraries comprises 14 branch libr

aries, a website, and Books-by-Mail and Home Delivery services. The Library serves a population of approximately 400,000 spread over 5,889 sq. The collection consists of over 1 million items - including books, magazines, DVDs, CDs and downloadable audiobooks, eBooks and videos. Halifax Public Libraries welcomes posts and encourages users to take part in discussions and share their views. However, the Library reserves the right to remove posts that:
- are offensive
- are insensitive to others
- include threatening or abusive language
- include political/commercial advertisements

Don't "Froget" we are doing 2 meetups tomorrow, Wednesday August 12th, and our theme is "Ponds!".
10:30am - 12:00pm at the Cornerstone Park Gazebo in Middle Musquodoboit. (2 Elm Street)
1:30pm-2:30pm at the Upper Musquodoboit Community Hall. ( 8344-Hwy 224)
Come drop in and dip your toe in our pond of games, crafts, activities, and prizes. We will also have some books on hand to borrow and some to take home to keep.

Apologies to everyone but the REC Van has rescheduled their locations/times for today. They will be in Carroll's Corner at the Community Centre this morning and at the new kids playground in Middle Musquodoboit this afternoon. Please check their facebook posts for details.
The library is here at the Cornerstone Park until 12pm and we will be inside at the Upper Musquodoboit Community Hall from 2pm to 3pm. Hope to see you soon!

Tomorrow's Meet-up, Wednesday August 5th is a double feature! The Library joins the REC Van at the Cornerstone Park, Middle Musquodoboit in the morning from 10:30am until 12:00pm, AND also at the Upper Musquodoboit Community Hall at 2:00pm until 3:00pm. (The REC van will be at the UMCH 1-3pm).
Our theme is "Rivers" this week and we will be meeting some crocodiles, learning about salmon journeys, and having fun canoeing through our imagination together. Games, crafts, prizes, treats, and more!

Carroll's Corner Community Centre Meet-up is tomorrow!
We will be there rain or shine on Wednesday July 22nd from 10:30am to 12:00pm along with the HRM Rec Van. We will have lots of games and activities to do, and the library theme for this week is Lakes. We will learn about what creatures may live in or near lakes, make a turtle craft, have a treat or two and win some prizes. We will also have some books to take home and keep!

LOCATION CHANGED TO THE FAMILY RESOURCE CENTRE, upstairs at the Haverstock Pharmasave Building, 12280 Hwy 224, Middle Musquodoboit. Free Summer Reading Club Kick-Off Party with Tim Jeffries the Dinosaur Detective. Explore fossils from the Alberta Badlands, a prehistoric inland sea, and pretend to be a paleontologist. Wednesday July 8th, Tim presents from 10:30am to 11:30am, activities until 12:00pm. No registration required. In partnership with the Musquodoboit Valley Family Resource Centre and the National Touring Museum.
