This summer, Community Health Boards across Central Zone shared information and perspectives on Basic Income Guarantees as one potential approach to addressing poverty and improving community well-being.

The campaign explored how a basic income could help provide financial stability, support health and well-being, create opportunities, and strengthen communities. It also highlighted the growing conversation around this policy approach, including support from many municipalities across Nova Scotia.

Poverty and financial insecurity affect individuals, families, and communities in many ways. A Basic Income Guarantee is one of several ideas being discussed to address these challenges. Our goal in sharing these campaign highlights is to provide information, encourage reflection, and support informed community conversations.

We encourage you to explore the facts, consider the possibilities, and draw your own conclusions.
