Public Works is continuing to undertake the maintenance gravel this week on Weedmark and Carleys Corners. Thereafter Kerford Road.

The goal is to complete the maintenance gravel in order to apply calcium chloride on the outstanding gravel roads.

Grading operations are to continue upon contract completion.

MEDIA RELEASE

Please see the full media release below regarding the grand opening of the Merrickville Community Centre. $197,900 was granted from the provincial government's Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) for the installation of accessibility upgrades, create a shaded veranda and update the roof and exterior cladding of the building.

MPP Steve Clark visited Merrickville this afternoon for the successful grand opening and community gathering at the Merrickville Community Centre.

🗑 Canada Day Waste Collection Notice 🗑

Please be advised that garbage and recycling will not be collected on July 1 due to road closures for Canada Day events.

The Landfill will also be closed on July 1 and will reopen on July 2.

Garbage and recycling collection will take place on July 2.

This is a friendly reminder that all dogs must remain on a leash throughout the entire municipality. This is including, but is not limited to, the Merrickville Fairgrounds and ball fields.

While we understand that our furry friends like to run free sometimes, they must remain on a leash and be controlled while walking them in public areas.

Ditching, brushing, asphalt removal, and gravel roadwork is scheduled to begin on Railway Street on or before June 23. Maintenance gravel will also be applied to Montague Road.

Work is expected to be completed by July 3rd (weather and resources depending).

There is a Special Council Meeting scheduled before the Regular Meeting at 5:00 p.m. The purpose of the meeting is to hold a public meeting under section 12 of the Development Charges Act.
