Water bills have been sent out, and this installment is due on September 30th, 2026. Payments for bills can be made at most financial institutions via online banking, by mail (cheques only), or in person at the Municipal Office (317 Brock Street West) by cash, debit, or cheque.

Did you know you can sign up to receive bills electronically and can set up pre-authorized payments to ensure you never miss a bill cycle? Pre-Authorized Payment Form & E-Notice Consent Forms can be found on the Village website: https://www.merrickville-wolford.ca/governance/applications-licences-permits

Please contact the Municipality at 613-269-4791 ext. 260 if you did not receive your bill or if you have any questions.

The Municipality has scheduled a Town Hall Public Meeting as a preliminary budget discussion. The purpose of the meeting is to provide an opportunity for residents to present budget-related ideas and suggestions that address local needs and priorities and encourage public participation in the budget process.

There is a Municipal Services & Property Tax Survey now available on the Village website that we are asking and encouraging all residents to fill out.

βœ… Purpose: We are seeking your input on municipal services and future priorities. Your feedback will help us understand which services matter most to residents and whether additional investment in specific areas would be supported.

Power Disruption

Hydro One on St. Lawrence Street

Hydro One will be undertaking work to replace insulators on hydro poles on St Lawrence St on Monday, September 14, during the evening hours.
Please be advised that traffic on St. Lawrence may be affected while this work is being completed and partial lane closures may impact the street. Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact Hydro directly.

Wellington Street Update

The contractor will be undertaking a pressure test on the new watermain from 7:00 a.m. to approximately 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 12th. This work should not affect existing residents or business.

Residents can expect a small crew on site and minimal noise while the water main and service connections are being filled and flushed. No major construction equipment will be required to complete this work.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as this work is completed.

🚧 Wellington Street W Construction Update: September 9 to September 23 🚧

Over the next two weeks, crews will continue making significant progress on underground infrastructure and road reconstruction works.
Planned activities include:

βœ… Sanitary, storm sewer, and watermain installation from St. John Street toward St. Patrick Street
βœ… Road building operations following underground service installation
βœ… Completion of subdrain installation
βœ… Water chlorination and commissioning of new infrastructure
βœ… Service tie-ins to homes and businesses on Wellington Street West
βœ… Sidewalk and curb preparation
βœ… Installation of Enbridge carrier pipe for the gas expansion project
βœ… Completion of various CCTV inspections
βœ… Storm sewer repair at Main Street West and St. John Street
βœ… Closure at the intersection of Wellington and St. Patrick Streets

This is a friendly reminder that the last Brush Amnesty Date is upcoming. The remaining date is:

Residents can bring a one half-ton truck or 4x8 utility trailer free of charge to the Municipal Landfill. One load per property is allowed with a landfill card.

The Municipal Landfill is open on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
