🎉 What an incredible way to kick off summer!

Over 500 people joined us for Summer Unleashed on June 4th, and Spruce Haven Park was buzzing with energy all evening long. From games and activities to great food, it was incredible to see our community out connecting and celebrating together!

A huge thank you to our event partners:

🚛 PSA: Yard Waste Reminder 🌱

We’ve recently had some issues with grass clippings sticking inside waste carts when they are placed loose in the bin.

To help ensure smooth collection and keep carts clean, we ask that residents please bag grass clippings before placing them in your waste cart. This helps prevent material from sticking and ensures everything can be emptied properly.

Melfort is on the move for ParticipACTION Community Challenge Month!

Every move matters as we compete for the title of Canada’s Most Active Community and a chance to win $100,000!

The City offers a FREE outdoor equipment loan program all summer long so everyone can get outside, explore, and stay active while enjoying everything our community has to offer.

🎾 Available equipment includes:
• Disc golf sets
• Nordic walking poles
• Pickleball paddles

Equipment is free and available to everyone in Melfort (subject to availability). To borrow equipment, contact the Northern Lights Palace at 306-752-7200 or [email protected].

Whether you walk, bike, swim, skate, dance, garden, or play at the park—it all counts toward our community’s activity goals!

🎉 A few things to know before you go!

This is a free event. City activities are free for everyone to enjoy 🛹🧘🎨

🌭 BBQ will be available for $7 (cash only), which includes a hot dog, chips, and a drink.

⚠️ The north entrance into Spruce Haven Park off Shadd Drive by the skate park and the south side of this road will be closed during the event for safety, as activities will be taking place in these areas. These closures are marked by the red X in the photo.

🪑 Don’t forget to bring a lawn chair to spectate comfortably!

There are activities for all ages happening from 4:00–8:00 PM, plus a BBQ running from 5:30–7:30 PM 🌭 Grab a hot dog, chips, and a drink for $7 (cash only).

📢 Friendly Bylaw Reminder

A reminder that Traffic Bylaw 2021-12 is in effect regarding on-street parking limits.

Key points to remember:

- Vehicles cannot be parked on any street or avenue for more than 48 consecutive hours;
- Unattended or extended parking may result in the vehicle being removed at the owner’s expense;
- Unattached trailers or semi-trailers are not permitted to be left on public streets;
- Unattached trailers can create safety concerns, reduce visibility, and interfere with street cleaning and maintenance operations.

Thank you for your cooperation and for helping keep our streets safe, accessible, and well-maintained.
