🌿Reminder! Next week is spring cleanup week!🌼

🐝New dates for Spring Cleanup Week have been confirmed!🌷

It’s that time of year again where we spruce up our yards for warmer weather and need somewhere to put our clippings, cuttings and compost!

During the week of June 1-5 place bags of yard refuse and bundled sticks in your back alley by 7:30 AM on your regular garbage/recycling day.

Note: that branches may be picked up separately, possibly as late as the following week. 🌳

In 2025, 23% of calls received by the Meadow Lake Fire Department were alarm activations where no emergency was found also known as false alarms. Many of these calls are caused by improperly maintained security systems, incorrect or outdated contact information, or alarm company verification calls that go unanswered.

Every page requires firefighters to gear up and respond, even when no emergency exists. These responses take time and resources away from emergencies and place unnecessary wear on personnel and equipment.

Property owners can play a helpful role in reducing the number of false alarms by keeping alarm systems well maintained, ensuring their alarm companies have up-to-date contact information, and answering alarm verification calls. These simple steps can significantly reduce false alarm calls and in turn keep the community safe by ensuring the department is available when needed.
