August 1 marks Emancipation Day, a time to honour the strength, resilience, and contributions of Black communities while reflecting on the ongoing journey toward justice and freedom.

Join the Underground Freedom Train Ride hosted by the Blackhurst Cultural Centre in Toronto.

🕥 10:30 p.m.
📍 Travel together in a symbolic re-enactment of the Underground Railroad to Union Station.

This special evening celebrates Emancipation, Black and Caribbean farmers and farm workers, and the powerful connection between food, land, and freedom.

Please bring non-perishable food items to support the local food drive.

If you don't live in Toronto, take part in an Emancipation Day event in your own community. Let's honour our shared history, celebrate our resilience, and continue building a future rooted in equity, justice, and freedom.
