⚠️ Please be advised that from now until June 30, Parks Canada will be conducting treatment on hemlock trees across to protect against the invasive hemlock woolly adelgid (HWA).

Trails will remain open to visitors. Visitors may notice crews working in forested areas and pesticide signage posted near treatment sites.

From June 15 to June 30, Parks Canada will be conducting targeted treatment of Eastern hemlock trees in high priority areas across Rouge National Urban Park to help protect against the invasive hemlock woolly adelgid (HWA).

This walk begins with a brisk 3-km stretch, where the trail offers glimpses of historical buildings and stories of the area’s past, along with familiar names on plaques and headstones. The full 6-km route concludes with a return trek to Glasgow Day Use Area.

Coyotes and black bears have been known to be active and seen in . Although they usually avoid humans, if you do see one, leave it alone, keep your distance, do not approach and do not run.

👉Give wildlife space
👉Do not approach wildlife
👉Wild animals can be unpredictable and potentially dangerous
👉Keep pets on leash
👉Stay at least 30m (3 bus lengths) away from deer, moose, elk, and caribou
👉Stay at least 100m (10 bus lengths) away from bears, wolves, coyotes, and foxes
