πΏ Property Maintenance Reminder πΏ
As the summer season gets underway, the Town would like to remind residents that under The Property Maintenance and Nuisance Abatement Bylaw No. 2014-MC-16, property owners are responsible for ensuring that grass and weeds on their property do not exceed 6 inches in height.
Keeping yards maintained helps make our community cleaner, safer, and more enjoyable for everyone. π
If a property appears untidy or overgrown, the following process is followed:
βοΈ The Bylaw Officer will conduct an inspection after noticing a potential violation or receiving a complaint.
βοΈ If warranted, a warning will first be provided to the property owner.
βοΈ If the warning is not addressed, an Order to Remedy will be issued with a deadline for compliance.
βοΈ Failure to comply with the Order to Remedy may result in a fine pursuant to Section 35 of Bylaw No. 2014-MC-16.
βοΈ Continued non-compliance may result in the Town authorizing the required work to be completed, with associated costs added to the property taxes in accordance with Section 366 of The Municipalities Act and Section 33 of Bylaw No. 2014-MC-16.
