🚜 Back Alley Grading & Maintenance Update

The Town would like to advise residents that grading and maintenance work in the back alleys is planned to be completed once conditions have sufficiently dried up and the weather is suitable for equipment operations.

Spring weather and frost conditions can create many issues in back alleys, and the Town is aware of the current conditions throughout the community. However, grading gravel while it is wet or saturated can often do more harm than good, as the gravel loses stability and can quickly turn into liquid mud.

Our Public Works staff will continue to monitor conditions closely and will proceed with maintenance as soon as it can be done effectively and safely.

We would like to thank all residents for their patience, understanding, and cooperation.

🌿 Property Maintenance Reminder 🌿

As the summer season gets underway, the Town would like to remind residents that under The Property Maintenance and Nuisance Abatement Bylaw No. 2014-MC-16, property owners are responsible for ensuring that grass and weeds on their property do not exceed 6 inches in height.

Keeping yards maintained helps make our community cleaner, safer, and more enjoyable for everyone. 😊

If a property appears untidy or overgrown, the following process is followed:

βœ”οΈ The Bylaw Officer will conduct an inspection after noticing a potential violation or receiving a complaint.
βœ”οΈ If warranted, a warning will first be provided to the property owner.
βœ”οΈ If the warning is not addressed, an Order to Remedy will be issued with a deadline for compliance.
βœ”οΈ Failure to comply with the Order to Remedy may result in a fine pursuant to Section 35 of Bylaw No. 2014-MC-16.
βœ”οΈ Continued non-compliance may result in the Town authorizing the required work to be completed, with associated costs added to the property taxes in accordance with Section 366 of The Municipalities Act and Section 33 of Bylaw No. 2014-MC-16.

You can review the full bylaw here:
https://www.maplecreek.ca/public/download/files/336603

If you notice a property that may be in contravention of this bylaw, please submit a Compliments and Concerns Form so that proper documentation can be maintained:

Thank you to all residents for your cooperation and continued efforts in helping keep Maple Creek clean, safe, and looking its best!
