ginack Arena and Fair Grounds (with public tennis courts and ball diamond), Bay Street Marina (offering access to the North Channel and Great Lakes), an original lighthouse still in operation (built in 1878), the Rainbow Ridge Golf Course, swimming beaches and playgrounds, McLeans park that has year round access for hiking, biking snowshoeing and cross country skiing, St. Paul’s Anglican Church (the oldest Anglican church in Northern Ontario), Museum exhibit building with an adjacent original blacksmith shop, authentic log home and early century school house. Retail and services include municipal office, medical clinic, ambulance services, waste disposal, public Internet access, volunteer fire department, seven churches, post office, public library, grocery store, restaurants, pharmacy, and chartered banking services with 24 hour ATM.

SPRING CLEAN-UP WEEK is a one-time special collection of general household items that are difficult to take to the Recycling Depot. Items are to be placed within 10 feet of the roadside; on the day the pickup is scheduled in your area and must be out by noon.

Each household is eligible for a pickup under the following conditions:
The maximum weight of all material collected can't exceed 500 pounds. Bagged items must be in clear bags. Individual items can't exceed 50 pounds. Bundles must be no longer than 3 feet long.

WHAT'S ALLOWED:
Mattresses (wrapped in plastic and taped securely) Furniture items, Lawn furniture, Carpets, Brush (not construction or renovation materials), Electronics

WHAT'S NOT ALLOWED:
Automotive parts, Batteries, White goods: such as stoves, fridges, air conditioners, washing machines etc; Construction or renovation materials
Hazardous materials, paints, cleaners, etc.; Liquid waste, Tires, Propane tanks of any size.

DEBRIS PICK-UP REQUESTS are by reservation only and can be made by using the Customer Feedback/Complaint link on our website. https://ca.cloudpermit.com/gov/map/CA-3551011 (The preferred method for mapping of locations for staff) or by calling the Garage at 705-859-3780.

COLLECTION DATES:
Monday - Manitowaning
Wednesday - All areas North of Manitowaning
Friday – All areas South of Manitowaning

SPECIAL RECYCLE DEPOT HOURS:
Tuesday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Thursday 4p.m. to 8 p.m.
Saturday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

NOTE: All material must be deposited on the side of a municipal road or street. People on private roads and rights of way must bring materials to the nearest “public” intersection within the Township. Materials that are not acceptable will be left. Owners will be contacted to remove them. Additional charges may be applied to those who do not follow these rules. Questions should be directed to (705)859-3780.

HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE DAY: will be held Saturday July 11th from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Municipality of Central Manitoulin.
