Yesterday, Ms. B’s Indigenous language students welcomed Ashley St. Pierre who taught them about beaded feathers and their cultural significance in Anishinaabek traditions and customs and what their uses are. Ms. St. Pierre is a talented Beading Artisan and is our MDP Education Director. A huge Miigwech for sharing your knowledge and talents with our students.

We had a very busy Thursday at MPS. We first welcomed all our incoming JK students and their families for a Journey into Learning and then moved right on to our spring bbq. Thank you to everyone who worked hard to make both of these events such a success. Also, thank you so much to our incredible community for the donations of baked goods and for coming out to support our school. We had a huge turn out and the weather was perfect. The ‘Paint the Plow’ was a great addition to our night, thank you Ryan Morgan 😊

Good morning, Bus 548 has been cancelled for today, due to driver shortage. That is our large bus covering Moose Deer Point and the highway into town. If you are dropping off your child our supervision begins at 8:30 am and school dismissal is at 3:05.

MacTier students competed on Wednesday at the Ultimate Frisbee tournament where they displayed tremendous sportsmanship over the course of the day. The fields were SOAKED, and our students had smiles on their faces as they slipped and slid around. Thank you to our coach Mr. Robertson and to Ms. Giffin our parent volunteer.
