Last one! Tomorrow starting at around 11:00 the Rattlers, our Lytton IA crews, fire crew staff from Lillooet and Lytton First Nation's staff will be conducting a prescribed burn in the Lytton Creek Gully below IR 17. This is mainly aimed at surface fuel reduction for community protection and we should be done by 3 tomorrow afternoon.

Starting tomorrow (weather forecasting dependant) the Rattlers, our Lytton IA crews, fire crews from our sister base in Lillooet and staff from Kamloops and even Salmon Arm in conjunction with LFN, Skuppah IB, Village of Lytton and Cascade Forest District will conduct 3-4 of prescribed burns in the area this week.
We are hoping to start with Skuppah tomorrow, Loring Way on Tuesday, Lot 47 on Wednesday and finishing the week with the Lytton Creek Gully burn.
Smoke will be highly visible as we conduct this work - but we will only light if we have the right winds, venting and overall conditions.

Starting at about 1 today until 5 we will be conducting preliminary burn operations (blacklining work) on the Loring way prescribed burn. Our Rattler Unit and Lytton IA crew staff will be out there all afternoon getting this work done.
Smoke will be highly visible as we get this done and will put us in a good starting point for the main burn on this polygon that will be sometime next week.

UPDATE: Due to some work happening at Skuppah we are going to have to delay burning until Thursday - we'll keep everyone posted as we watch the weather window for that day. Thanks!

Good morning!
Conditions are looking good and we are going to conduct a prescribed burn in conjunction with Skuppah Indian Band on an area that is located downhill and east of the Band office as early as tomorrow (March 22nd)
We'll have a good sized crew of our Lytton Unit Crew and IA crews as well as staff from Lillooet onsite tomorrow.
Smoke will be very visible in the greater community and we will have signage up on the highway and Band Office.

Good morning!
Our crew staff will be back working on Sunday's fire that was between Highway and the suspension bridge road. Working with the Village of Lytton fire department and LFN staff we will be conducting interior burning and mop up work on the fire. Smoke will be highly visible as we work through the day but we are expecting to be completed by 5 this afternoon.

On Wednesday March 1st the TLKemchEEn Fire Smart committee will be hosting a dinner and information session as we start to come into spring and fire season. Please join us for a meal and some great presentations that evening! There are going to be some great door prizes as well!

Hello!

Staff from the local firebase here will be conducting a small prescribed burn in conjunction with Skuppah as early as tomorrow afternoon starting at noon and we should be done by 4:30.

Smoke will be visible from the highway and surrounding community and we will have signage up on the highway.

Hello!
We had a pretty successful day burning at Skuppah yesterday and the conditions are right today for us to conduct the Highway 1 prescribed burn today.
This burn is located just south of the Kumsheen School and will be adjacent to the Trans Canada Highway. Working with YRB and Ministry of Highways will have traffic control on-site doing single lane alternating traffic on the south bound lane from 10 to 6 today as we get this done.
Smoke will be highly visible to the greater community for the afternoon.

Good morning,
The weather has finally cooperated and we have the right conditions to conduct the prescribed burn at Skuppah! As per the attached map we will be burning the area below the band office and houses at Skuppah 2A IR and adjacent to the rail line.
We should be done the ignition work at around 5 this afternoon but will have people onsite into the evening as we let it burn out safely.
Smoke will be highly visible to the greater community throughout the day.
