Winter has officially arrived in Lytton. We want to remind motorists to slow down and drive for the conditions. Be patient with other motorists and give plenty of space between vehicles. And remember, slow down and move over for emergency and tow vehicles

FOR INFORMATION:

Tonight Lytton Fire Rescue will be conducting live fire training in the vicinity of the Old Mill site. Training is expected to occur between 7:00pm to 9:00pm, smoke and flame may be visible from Highway 1 during this timeframe.

Live fire exercises are an important component of firefighter training, allowing responders to observe how fire behaves, implement suppression strategies, and gain valuable knowledge while operating in a safe and controlled environment

Today, members of LFR will be honouring our past and present Veterans by attending the Rememberance Day ceremony at the Lytton Cenotaph and taking part in 2 minutes of silence.

We kindly ask everyone today to take a moment to reflect on the sacrifices made by our Veterans and observe the 2 minutes of silence at 11am

Last night our crews trained on Pumps and Pumping. Delivering water is one of the most crucial roles on the fire ground. From sending water to the nozzle, setting relief valves, proportioning foam, ensuring proper pressure to every single hose line to securing an external water source, being a pump operator is no small feat.

Last night at approximately 8:10pm crews responded to a motor vehicle fire involving a semi truck at Siska Hill. The fire was quickly knocked down and there were no injuries
