Farm animals are more than livestock — they are sentient beings with individual needs, behaviours, personalities, and the capacity to experience comfort, stress, fear, and joy.

This week is an opportunity to recognize the important role farm animals play in our lives and to learn more about what they need to live healthy, comfortable, and fulfilling lives.

From providing appropriate nutrition and shelter to understanding natural behaviours and ensuring access to proper veterinary care, good animal welfare means giving farm animals the opportunity to thrive.

Take some time this week to learn something new about the animals who help feed and sustain our communities. Their welfare matters.

UPDATED Lumsden Solid Waste Facility will return to regular hours Saturday September 5th from 10:00 am - 4:00pm.

The Lumsden Municipal Office will be closed on Monday, September 7 for Labour Day. We will reopen on Tuesday, September 8 with our regular business hours of 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Have a great long weekend!
