Lucan Biddulph Santa Claus Parade

We can’t wait to see everyone tonight for our Santa Claus Parade! Starting at 6pm along Main Street (Saintsbury Line) to the Community Centre. The Firefighters will be collecting non-perishable goods along the route so don’t forget to bring a donation for the Foodbank. Visit Santa following the parade at the Community Centre’s multi-purpose hall.

Road closures will be in place as well!

It’s one week away!!! Don’t forget to bring a non-perishable good for donation to the Ailsa Craig & Area Foodbank & Thrift Store. Items will be collected along the parade route by our firefighters. Santa will stay after the parade for some pictures and treats in the Multi-Pupose Hall at the Community Centre. We can’t wait to see everyone!

Remember Main Street from Saintsbury Line to Chestnut will be closed starting at 6pm until the parade is finished. Also, Saintsbury Line from Main to Highway 7/Elginfield Road will be closed from 5pm-6pm to allow for floats to line up. Please use alternate routes to get to where you need to be.

Mark your calendars! It is that time of the year again! The Lucan Biddulph Annual Santa Claus Parade is Saturday December 6th, 2025.

On Wednesday, December 4th, 2024 it was announced that the Annual Lucan Biddulph Santa Claus parade would be postponed because of the extreme amount of snow the municipality received. Due to the ongoing weather event, the municipality could not guarantee the safety of the participants and spectators along the Main Street route. Municipal staff have been fully focused on ensuring everyone’s safety during this winter weather event and the clearing of our municipal roads and sidewalks as quickly as possible. It has been a challenging week with the amount of snow Lucan Biddulph received, equipment breakdowns, etc.

Council and Staff were originally hoping to be able to reschedule the event but given the logistics and the number of neighbouring parades/events happening next weekend and beyond, it has become apparent that we will be unable to have our Santa Claus parade this year. Many of the participants as well as the OPP support were already committed to other communities. Support from the OPP is critical as they provide road closure traffic control along Main Street during the parade.

The Lucan Biddulph Fire Department will be organizing a town wide food drive Tuesday, December 17th from 7-9pm to collect non-perishable items for the Ailsa Craig & Area Food Bank. This is an important part of our parade tradition that will be continued as donations are needed more than ever during this time of year. The Biddulph Blanshard Fire Department will be collecting donations during their Annual Hay Ride on Saturday, Dec 14 from 4-7pm.

Council and Staff understand that our Annual Santa Claus Parade is an important tradition and celebration in our community and we hope to bring joyful celebrations in the future under safer conditions. Thank you again to our community for their understanding and support as well as to our Municipal Public Works and Parks & Recreation Operators for their dedication this week to keeping our community safe.

At last night’s Council meeting, a decision was made to not hold our Annual Santa Claus Parade this Saturday for the safety those who attend as well as participate. Staff are working on a possible postponement date and will be reaching out to those who submitted a float as well as performers. It is expected that we will have an announcement later today or early tomorrow morning on the postponed plans. Thank you for understanding! We know that this is a well loved event and we will keep everyone updated as soon as we have the details.

This just in! Santa will be stopping in the Lion's Active Living Centre after the parade!! Head on over after the parade and meet Santa and get a photo, along with treats provided by the Lucan Biddulph Fire Department! We can't wait to see you!
