Loon Point
by Carrie Clausen

This story takes place in the northern woods at The Last Resort, a family business run by Norry. It’s the quiet winter season when a blizzard changes everything.
First, an eight-year-old girl named Lizzie shows up needing care while her troubled mother struggles with addiction. Then comes Wendell, a grumpy old man whose house literally collapses around him during the storm. Nori suddenly finds herself caring for both of them.
And then there’s Bud — the kind-hearted handyman Norry went to school with — always showing up to help when things fall apart. As winter fades and the resort heads into its busy season, Nori realizes she spends so much time taking care of everyone else that she rarely lets anyone care for her. Maybe Bud is the one person willing to try.
This book was cozy, heartfelt, and emotional without being overly heavy. The setting felt quiet and comforting, even during the stormy moments, and I really enjoyed the relationships between the characters.

Once and Again
By Rebecca Serle

Lauren, her mother Marcella, and her grandmother Silvia, along with their female ancestors before them, all have something priceless and shiny. The women of the Novak family each are born with a silver ticket that allows them to turn back time, but only once per ticket. Lauren was told her mother used hers to "save" her father when she was just a girl. Now Lauren is all grown up and married. She is spending the summer back home with her family in their Malibu beach home while her husband Leo lives in New York. She starts spending time with her first love, Stone. As the summer progresses she wonders if she made the right choice all those years ago by letting Stone go. The more distant Leo becomes and the closer she and Stone get, she ponders if she should use her ticket to go back to her youth and change things.

Call of the Camino
by Suzanne Redfearn.

This story takes place over two different timelines and follows two women walking the same 500-mile pilgrimage route, but for very different reasons.
In present day, Reina walks the Camino as a journalist, but also to feel connected to her father. He walked the trail years earlier and has since passed away.
In 1997, teenage Isabella walks the Camino for survival. Fleeing her boarding school, she turns to the sacred trail in hopes it will provide. And it does. She meets a young American who will change her life.
Both women meet unforgettable people along the way and experience moments that reshape their lives. The Camino itself felt like another character in the story, with its beautiful scenery, challenges, and deep emotional impact on the people walking it.

This book is about grief, family, survival, healing, and discovering who you really are. It had emotional moments, meaningful relationships, and enough mystery to keep me reading. I also loved the theme of how one journey can change the course of a person’s entire life.
