Thank you for an amazing summer!

The Village switches to Fall Hours starting next week. From September 10th to October 12th, we'll be open for regular visits from Thursday-Sunday, 10:00am-4:00pm. We'll also be open on Thanksgiving Monday!

After Thanksgiving, the Heritage Village is only open for pre-booked Education Programs and Seasonal Events. Make sure to check them out on our website!

It's our last week of our summer hours!🌞
This is the last week that the Village will be open Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00-4:00. Following Labour Day, we will be switching to our Fall Hours and will be open from Thursday to Sunday from 10:00-4:00.

Travel back in time and experience life in London and Middlesex County at Fanshawe Pioneer Village during Doors Open London 2026! 🏡🌾

Fanshawe Pioneer Village is an immersive living-history museum where visitors can explore 30 heritage buildings and discover what everyday life was like in the region between 1820 and 1920. From historic homes and businesses to costumed interpreters, the Village brings more than a century of local history to life.

For Doors Open London, visitors can:
🏡 Wander through the Village’s historic buildings and streets
👒 Meet costumed interpreters and learn about life in the 19th and early 20th centuries
📜 Explore a pop-up exhibit of archival images and the new Collections Exhibit
🧺 Enjoy family-friendly activities, demonstrations, and hands-on experiences throughout the day
🪷 On Saturday from 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM, explore an interactive display presented by Hindu Legacy and learn more about Hindu culture, history, and philosophy
🎶 Enjoy a musical performance as part of the weekend’s programming!

Visit the Textile Fair at Fanshawe Pioneer Village this Saturday, September 5th to learn about 19th century fibre arts. Plus, explore over 25 Heritage Buildings across our expansive museum!

Check out our special programming for the day:

🧵 Feature Presentation by Deborah Livingston-Lowe of Upper Canada Weaving: Learn about historical Komoka weaver John Campbell and his jacquard loom, which recently joined the Village’s permanent collection.

🧵 Vendor Market: Explore handmade gifts from local textile artists, including baskets, apparel, yarn and toys!

🧵 Skill Demos: Meet expert weavers, spinners, lacemakers and other craftspeople too see how they work their magic, including London District Weavers and Spinners and Mrs Maple Costuming!

🧵 Stuffy Hospital: Bring your fluffy friend to Dr. Jones House for a check-up and minor sewing repairs!

🧵 Quilt Exhibit: Check out a pop-up exhibit of antique quilts from our collection.

🧵 Scavenger Hunt: Search for textile artifacts around the museum.

🧵 Exclusive Cross-Stitch Pattern: Pick up a cross-stitch pattern adapted from a historical coverlet woven by John Campbell. Patterns will be available at Denfield General Store in limited quantities.

🧵 Hot Dog BBQ: Treat yourself to a tasty lunch at our fundraiser and help support our non-profit museum! The grill will be open from 11:00am-3:00pm (or while supplies last). Cash is preferred. Halal and vegan hot dogs will be available.

Don't miss Irish Heritage Day THIS SUNDAY at Fanshawe Pioneer Village, presented by the Irish Benevolent Society of London & Area!

🌻Explore 25+ Heritage Buildings in our open-air museum.
🌻Attend the Opening Ceremony at 1:00pm.
🌻See artillery firings at the 1798 Rebellion reenactments at 10:30am and 2:30pm.
🌻Enjoy live Irish trad music all day long.
🌻Treat yourself to a fish and chips lunch from Craklins Best Fish & Chips, or hot dogs at the Village's fundraiser BBQ.
🌻Try your hand at the Irish sport of hurling.
🌻Take part in a mini Gaelige (Irish language) lesson.

Join Fanshawe Pioneer Village for the Textile Fair on September 5th!

Discover 19th century fibre arts history while you explore over 25 Heritage Buildings at our expansive museum. Enjoy hands-on demonstrations from costumed historical interpreters as well as visiting artisans. Special programming includes a keynote presentation about historic Komoka weaver John Campbell by Deborah Livingston-Lowe, as well as a Stuffy Hospital for minor teddy bear repairs.

Don't forget to stop by the Vendor Market and Denfield General Store for beautiful handmade gifts, or to hit up the Hot Dog BBQ Fundraiser. The grill will be open from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (or while supplies last). Cash is preferred. Halal and vegan options will be available.
