We are saddened to hear about Sgt. Carleton’s passing.
Our thoughts are with all of his family, friends and colleagues during this difficult time.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the loss of one of our own. The Barrie Police Service is mourning the death of Sgt. Brett Carleton.
Sgt. Carleton was a highly respected police officer whose commitment to his work touched many families during some of the hardest moments of their lives.
He will forever be remembered as a valued member of the Service.
We offer his family our support, our love, and our deepest understanding for their need for privacy during this incredibly difficult time.

Over the last few weeks, we’ve seen a horrifying increase in the number of police officers killed or wounded in the line of duty across Canada.

Today, I wrote to Premier Rob Lantz, Chair of the Council of the Federation, requesting an urgent discussion at the upcoming premiers’ meeting on how we can protect the brave women and men who keep our communities safe.

We are absolutely devastated regarding the on duty death of Toronto Police officer Marc Pinizzotto. Each and everyday officers across our Province put their lives on the line for their communities.

Officer Pinizzotto is a hero.

Our hearts are broken as we stand with his family, his loved ones and all the members of the Toronto Police Association.
