Today, we recognize the generations of workers who have helped shape Canada and the many ways their skills, dedication, and contributions help strengthen our communities every day.

It’s also a chance to appreciate the people whose work strengthens our workplaces, services, and communities every day.

Kailey, Christine, Taunua, and Madison decided to do something a little different with their raised garden beds this year and turned them into a fairy garden!

Kailey has had so much fun bringing it together, collecting little pieces along the way and DIYing many of the decorations themselves. The best part? It’s easy to maintain, gives them a chance to get creative, and makes for a beautiful space to enjoy all season long. ✨🌸

Each year at our AGM, PHSS recognizes a Community Champion, celebrating a community partner who has helped create meaningful opportunities for people supported by PHSS. This year, we were proud to recognize Rondeau Yacht Club as our 2026 Community Champion! ⛵💙

For the past five years, Rondeau Yacht Club and their Access Boom Accessible Sailing Program have welcomed people supported onto the water, creating some pretty incredible experiences along the way.

What started as an opportunity to try accessible sailing has grown into a wonderful partnership filled with familiar faces, friendships, encouragement, and lots of great days out on the water. Their volunteers and counsellors remember sailors year after year, celebrate their accomplishments, and always find ways to make everyone feel welcome.

Congratulations to everyone at Rondeau Yacht Club, and thank you for being such an important part of the PHSS community! ⛵👏

Kailey and Chelsey enjoyed a beach day in Port Stanley! ☀️

They stopped at Mackie’s for lunch, walked along the boardwalk, checked out some of the shops around town and spent some time taking in the view of the beach.

Good food, a beautiful day and great company made for a pretty nice way to spend the afternoon! 🌊

Jordynn and Jessy recently took a trip to Bee Kind Blooms near West Lorne and spent some time exploring the sunflower fields! 🌻☀️

They enjoyed going through the rows of sunflowers and taking in the scenery. A beautiful spot for a summer day out!

Bee Kind Blooms also posts daily wheelchair conditions for the fields, which is a helpful touch for anyone planning a future visit. 🌻

Each year at our AGM, PHSS recognizes an Unsung Hero, someone whose impact is felt across PHSS. This year, we were proud to recognize David Ragobar as our 2026 Unsung Hero! 👏

Over his many years with PHSS, David has supported people, teams, and leaders through countless challenges and changes. He’s someone people trust and turn to for his experience, calm approach, creativity, honesty, and, of course, his sense of humour.

From mentoring staff and building meaningful relationships with people supported to coaching a PHSS soccer team and sharing his famous hot sauce, David has made his mark on PHSS in so many ways.

Congratulations, David, and thank you for everything you bring to PHSS! 💙

Community Place North brought a little extra fun to the summer with a Carnival Day! 🎪☀️

With carnival games, activities, treats, and lots of friendly competition, there was plenty happening throughout the day. It was a great chance to get together, enjoy the summer weather, and have some fun!

On August 14th, 26 teams joined us for the PHSS Foundation Annual Leo Kirwin Memorial Golf Tournament, making for an incredible day on the course.

We are very excited to share that this year’s tournament raised $60,000, setting a new fundraising record for the event! 🎉⛳

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make that possible, whether you golfed with us, participated in our online auction, purchased WestJet raffle tickets, or supported the tournament in another way.

A special thank you to our incredible sponsors and volunteers. Your generosity, time and support are a huge part of what makes this tournament possible year after year.
