Animalert

Animalert Animalert Pet Adoptions, a charity focused on finding good homes for dogs and cats in London, Ontario and surrounding area.

Animalert was founded in London, Ontario, Canada in 1977 by four animal lovers who wanted to ensure that pets were adopted by caring guardians. We now have about 35 active members, plus our large network of volunteers, which helps us spread the word about our adoption program and raise funds to offset our operating expenses. We are able to place about 250 cats and dogs a year into responsible, lov

ing homes. Not bad for a volunteer group, but we'd like to do better and with your help, we can! Animalert focuses on three main areas: Adoption, Education, and Spaying/Neutering. Animalert works independently of the London Humane Society and London Animal Care and Control Centre. We raise all of our money through adoption fees, private donations and fund-raising efforts, such as our annual Christmas bazaar. Because we have virtually no administrative overhead, approximately 90 per cent of our money is used for veterinary care, food and housing.

Introducing Sara, a resilient and affectionate canine who is gradually discovering the essence of being cherished. Originating from a puppy mill situation, Sara has overcome significant challenges and possesses an abundance of love to offer to those she trusts.
Characterized by her gentleness, devotion, and affectionate nature, Sara is known for her willingness to express her love through kisses and cuddles, provided one earns her trust. She forms strong emotional connections and is capable of deep affection, which can lead to a protective demeanor regarding the attention she perceives as rightfully hers. For individuals seeking a dog that will wholeheartedly reciprocate their affection, Sarah is an ideal candidate.
Sara appreciates the simple pleasures in life, such as exploring the backyard off-leash, enjoying leisurely walks, and quietly observing her surroundings. While she is inquisitive about her environment, she prefers to engage from a comfortable distance as she assesses her perceptions.
One of Sara's endearing traits is her fondness for toys. She often carries her toys proudly in her mouth, gathering them in her bed as treasured possessions. Although Sara is not particularly motivated by food, she maintains a healthy appetite and thrives on a consistent routine.
Sara would prosper in a serene home environment where she can feel secure and loved. She would flourish as the sole canine resident or alongside a calm, easygoing dog who will not compete for attention. In an appropriate setting, Sara has the potential to be a devoted companion, offering endless affection and loyalty.
Sara has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, Dental , Full Blood Panel & Heartworm tested, and additionally, Sara has been on monthly preventatives. Her adoption fee is $750.00, which includes her health records!

Meet Cali, the adorable cocker spaniel mix, and Poppy, the sweet poodle mix! These two girls were rescued during their "Freedom Ride" from a puppy mill just last weekend. Unfortunately, we don’t have any history on their past, as puppy mills typically do not share veterinary records.

It's possible that Poppy may be blind in one eye, but we'll be taking both girls to our vet for thorough health checks to ensure they receive the care they need to live happy, healthy lives.

If you'd like to help support their journey, please consider making a donation at this link: https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/3463.

Your support makes a difference for Cali and Poppy!

Winston is looking for his for home!

JEFF, KP & BACKSTAGE BEN: Winston needs a home, let's do this!

10-month-old shepherd-mix, Winston is looking for a loving family - is that you? He was adopted as a puppy but returned only a few months later at no fault of his own. He's happy, healthy, a true velcro dog that will love his humans forever and ever. He's good with kids, dogs, and curious about cats. He just wants to be a puppy - play, run, go for walks and of course snuggle on couch with his person. If you're looking for the sweetest (and cutest) instant BFF, please consider adopting this sweet boy! Check out Animalert.ca to fill out an application, and follow them on socials too! Let's do this. Let's get him home. 🐾

You must complete an adoption application to be considered for adopting Opal! https://www.animalert.ca/apply/dog-adoption

Pearl is now available for adoption and seeking a loving forever home.

Pearl and her sibling, Opal , were born on March 5, 2026, and are currently 8 weeks old.
Pearl is a charming Yorkie terrier who displays a more submissive demeanor compared to her sister. She possesses a distinctive wiry but wavy coat.

Both puppies are in excellent health and exhibit a robust appetite. Recently, they have begun to explore the outdoors, enjoying the warm weather.
We are in search of a nurturing family for Pearl. While a backyard is not mandatory, we prefer a safe, fenced area where she can play, as every dog deserves such an environment. A household with older, considerate children would be most appropriate, given her size.
Pearl has undergone a health examination by a veterinarian and has received her initial set of vaccinations. She will require two additional vaccinations at 12 weeks and 16 weeks of age, which are mandatory and must be completed by any prospective adopter.
Animalert will cover the cost of her spay procedure when she reaches the appropriate age, which will be coordinated through one of our veterinary clinics in London, Ontario area.
Pearl has received her first set of puppy vaccines and dewormer, Pearl has also been microchipped. Her adoption fee is $950.00, which includes her health records!
