Honoured to be endorsed by the London and District Labour Council again this campaign. Now more than ever we need a strong labour movement that protects workers. We've seen a growing disparity between ultra rich and working poor, a deteriorating social contract and devastating job losses that only benefit multinational corporations. This can be stopped - but only through collective organizing. ✊

I believe that when workers are compensated fairly, provided meaningful opportunities, have a good work environment and maintain a healthy work / life balance, they are more productive, healthier and happier. It just makes sense.

In 2023, while serving as a board member on the Middlesex London Health Unit, I moved a motion to have the MLHU become a Living Wage employer. It was approved and the MLHU became a Living Wage employer and has remained one since. I look forward to seeing more public institutions become Living Wage certified - as people who work full time in this city should be able to afford to live here too.

With all of Ontario's education unions currently in bargaining with the Ford government, we need to show how much we support education workers and teachers. Our next generations deserve well-funded schools that support them.

WEEK 13 OF BEING LOCKED OUT AND WERE STILL STANDING! STILL FIGHTING! 💙

August is here. The summer keeps moving. The days keep passing. But for Local 172 one thing hasn't changed:

WE ARE STILL STANDING!! ✊

Week 13 of being locked out is a reminder that this fight has never been just about a paycheque. It’s about being valued for the essential work we do, protecting the services our communities depend on, and demanding the respect that workers deserve!

Thirteen weeks of showing up!
Thirteen weeks of solidarity!
Thirteen weeks of choosing each other!
And we’re not done!!!!

Local 172 members have stood together through the heat, the rain, the long days and the hard days. We've supported other locals, connected with our community, and continued taking the Worth Fighting For message beyond our picket line!!

August may be a month for vacations and summer fun but there is no summer break when it comes to fighting for our future!!!!!

We are tired.
We are determined.
We are united.
And we are WORTH FIGHTING FOR!!

13 weeks down. Still standing. Still united. Still fighting. 💙💙
