🚒 Supporting Those Who Serve and Protect Canada
Every day, firefighters and other first responders put themselves in harm’s way to keep our communities safe. When tragedy strikes, the families of fallen responders deserve meaningful support, and our communities deserve the training and resources needed to be prepared for emergencies.
The IAFF is calling on the federal government to:
✅ Increase and index the Memorial Grant Program for First Responders to ensure families of fallen members receive support that keeps pace with inflation.
✅ Expand HazMat and emergency response training for firefighters and first responders.
✅ Invest in emergency preparedness to help communities respond to growing threats such as wildfires, hazardous materials incidents, and other disasters.
We encourage our members, families, and supporters to learn more about these important initiatives and the work being done to strengthen public safety across Canada.
