It's another busy day as we start the next phase of the move! We're boxing up the boxes as we pack up the archival collection so the empty compact shelving can be disassembled, transported to St. Paul's Cathedral, and reinstalled in the new vault.

Among the brave individuals who have served our country have been members of clergy serving as military chaplains to provide spiritual care for military members. Today we remember all military chaplains who have given their lives in the service of God and country.

Pictured is a letter of renewal of leave of absence signed by the Rt. Rev. Charles Seager to grant approval for the Rev. Walter Leslie Brown (13 August 1910 – 6 June 1944) to extend his leave from ministerial service in the Diocese of Huron to continue his work with the Canadian Armed Forces The Rev. Brown was attached to the Sherbrooke Fusilier Regiment, 2nd Canadian Armoured Brigade during Operation Overlord and was among the first Canadian Military Chaplains to land in Normandy on Juno Beach. He was killed after surrendering to enemy officers, making him the only allied military chaplain to be executed.

F is for Fair - the Heritage Fair is happening today, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

In 2016, then archivist Carolyn Bart-Reidstra suggested MCA host a heritage week event. This was in conjunction with Heritage Week held each February.
MCA has hosted a heritage fair each year since, with the exception of 2021. In 2022, the Fair was postponed due to pandemic restrictions and the new date was chosen in relation to Archives Awareness Week held the first week of April across the province. Since 2022, the Heritage Fair has been held in April.

Each year, MCA welcomes local heritage organizations to set up at the Delaware Community Centre to share who they are and what they are doing to preserve local heritage. From ACO to OGS, museums to libraries and so much more, the Heritage Fair provides a great opportunity for the community to learn about their community,

We hope you'll be able to join us!
