Lloydminster Sexual Assault Services provides support to individuals and families who have experienced sexual violence, exploitation, or bullying. Our services have expanded immensely in operation to include client-centered sessions for children, youth, and adults focusing on healthy coping skills and understanding their trauma. Sessions are offered in-house or through outreach locations in the Ci
ty of Lloydminster and within an approximate radius of 200km. Our team of Crisis Interventionists support the individual and their family, refer to community services, triage and assess, gather data, case plan, and provide safe healing spaces. Specialized programs include the Sexual Behaviour Program for children under the age of 12; the LGBTQ++ Program, Police and Court Support Program, Sexual Assault Response Team (SART), and the Little Bear Child and Youth Advocacy Centre Program. These multi-disciplinary programs offer safe and comfortable services, reducing the risk of re-victimization and increasing access to effective services while partnering with RCMP and Victim Services, Child and Family Services, Crown Prosecutors, and the Hospital. North Ryken Enhanced Services, a division of LSAS, provides a variety of healing opportunities (i.e.: Anger Resolution, Art/Play Integration, Trauma Informed Yoga, Emotional Freedom Technique, self-harm/suicidal ideation, self-esteem, and relationships). LSAS program developers take note of trends and impacts within our community, conduct research to determine best practices within our rural and remote setting, and are consistently enhancing programs and services for service users. A variety of Education Presentations and Group Programs are available to communities, educating on relationships, consent, friendships, bullying, sexual exploitation, and harassment. LSAS is a partner within the community offering fundraising and awareness events, collaborating, and connecting with others. Trainings and workshops are available and focus on effective ways to handle disclosures of sexual violence, facts and myths surrounding sexual violence and education on teaching boundaries and consent to children and youth with an overall goal of fostering change and growth.
